Sally Herbert
Sally’s love of music started early. As a child, she had the opportunity to perform in all the major London Concert Halls, inspiring a life-long ambition to share the love of music with all and sundry. She is firstly a trumpeter and loves all different styles of music, including classical and jazz. She has been learning the viola for the last few years, which has been a great reminder of the challenges of starting to learn an instrument.

Sally studied Music at Edinburgh University and the went on to get her Diploma in teaching from Moray House (PGDE). She went on to teach at St. George’s in Edinburgh, and then taught at several schools in the middle of Scotland. In a past life she was an organist in Edinburgh and ran Church Choirs and Choristers. More recently, she has conducted many choirs and bands with performances in the Perth Concert Hall and the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. She was Director of Music at an independent school in Scotland for many years but is now based in Cambridgeshire. The real joy for Sally is in a really excellent rehearsal, where everyone is having fun, enjoying the magic of music and refreshing their soul.

One of the other love's of Sally’s life is her cocker spaniel, Willow who is ridiculously cute and funny. If not playing with Willow or making music, you will find Sally either creating chaos in the garden or reading a good book.

Kathy Herbert Francis
Kathy Herbert Francis grew up as a violinist in Nottingham Suzuki Group and the Nottinghamshire Music Service. As a teenager she got really serious about classical music and went to Chetham's School of Music. Next stop was Cambridge Uni where she had a ball studying music and theology and thinking about what makes people tick. From here two small businesses evolved; one teaching strings and one running consultancy and training for churches and small organisations to help them move towards working with the grain of their people. Kathy loves music, and equally loves getting to know new people. You'll leave your lessons feeling like you have been challenged and listened to. Kathy teaches violin, viola and beginner cello. She also loves coaching string quartets. Come and find your love of music!
